Genoa

Farewell Genoa
the land to the sea gives his kingdom.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
Farewell
cats, rats, roof, pigeons,
balconies, gutters, sheet metal, chimneys,
water tanks, dormers, balconies, satellite television.
Farewell
insomnia passed through alleys exhausting
devising a system to communicate with other worlds.
Genoa disheveled,
noble, decadent, gritty,
pale.
Genoa outline
shady, detached, wary.
You do not give yourself away!
Dark,
I loved you like the saints loved martyrdom.
